Lacey’s Garden is a project dedicated to showing kindness, compassion and charity on the Burin Peninsula.
Many years ago Lacey’s Garden was an actual garden in the little town of Burin Bay, Newfoundland where a beautiful beagle played among the potatoes, cabbage, pansies
My Mom was sick a lot over the years and to cheer her up, Dad took a piece of old wood he had laying around, chiseled out the words Lacey’s Garden, painted it and hung it on the fence out in the garden to make my Mom smile.
Back in the late
My mom passed away in 2000 and I have always wanted a way to honor her
I have called upon friends and others to donate through me. I go to craft fairs and raise money for gas cards to help those with travel expenses when going back and forth to the hospital. I have donated gift baskets and sets for auctions in support of others as well.
I made it my goal to gather 15 gifts for the happy tree this year and I ended up with 19 gifts, 20 pairs of mitts and 10 winter hats to help those out on the Burin Peninsula. I’ve only just begun and I hope to accomplish more in 2019.
